The addition was done primarily to get a garage connected to the house. The only location was to build on the other side of the seasonal stream. The addition yielded a heated two car garage with a workshop off the back with a hidden mechanical/storage area under the workshop. The connector which bridges over the stream is now a mudroom and powder room with lots of built-ins for storage. The bridge leads into what use to be a screen porch, but is now a home office with wine cellar below.
Above the garage is a bedroom suite with a full bath and beautiful views of the lake. The specialty wall finishes were done by a local artist. The exterior driveway approach was re designed by Pelletieri Associates, and two new bridges and extensive stone retaining walls were added to bring the grade to its more natural and original state
